Mothers’ Milk Bank atAustin (MMBA) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1999 to save the lives of babies through the dispensing of prescribed, pasteurized donor breast milk. MMBA processes donated milk to optimize its benefits to vulnerable babies, and advocates for safety and accessibility of human milk for all babies.

Milk Donor Program Assistant Role
This full-time position supports the Milk Donor Program by screening lactating women who desire to donate milk, and reports to the Milk Donor Program Manager. The person in this position is responsible primarily for building relationships with prospective donor applicants, shepherding lactating women through the 4-step process of becoming an approved milk donor, including a phone interview and completion of paperwork, and continuing regular communication to obtain updated medical information and provide education. This person contributes to having an efficient, effective, and organized workplace, and makes everyone they speak with feel valued and supported. Staff in the Milk Donor Program are the first line of safety for donor human milk.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and professional communication by phone, email & fax, and in person
- Facilitate a trusting and supportive relationship with prospective and approved donors
- Facilitate conversations with donors that involve acquiring information about their lifestyle and medical histories, capturing needed information confidentially and respectfully.
- Respond to inquiries from approved and prospective donors promptly and efficiently and collaborate with other team members to ensure that all donors feel valued
- Record, organize, track, and maintain accurate data using Salesforce, Timeless Medical Systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets
- Collaborate effectively with the other milk bank programs’ staff as needed on all aspects of milk banking, including developing ideas for recruitment of donor applicants
- Assist with other mission-related activities as needed , including representing MMBA at events that may happen outside of business hours
Key Qualifications
- Mission and organizational values oriented
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Phone and in person customer service by experience, skill and comfort level
- Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines- ability to multitask is a must
- Proficient in multiple software programs; Salesforce experience a plus
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Strong work ethic
- Desire to positively affect the health outcomes of infants through infant feeding
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
