​Donate breast milk in rural Texas

Did you know that you can save the lives of babies born too soon and too small with your breast milk donation? Mothers’ Milk Bank at Austin is a nonprofit organization that relies on healthy, lactating women to donate their extra breast milk to preterm and ill infants in need.

Getting your milk to Mothers’ Milk Bank Austin

• You must be approved as a milk donor with Mothers’ Milk Bank at Austin before you begin dropping off milk. View preparation tips before you drop off your milk.
• Don’t live near any of our Texas milk collection sites? Out-of-area donors are approved on a case-by-case basis. The minimum initial donation for out of town donors is 200 ounces, with the expectation that the donor will continue to donate. Out-of-area donors should have access to dry ice, for which we reimburse. We also supply the coolers for shipping. Contact us to request a cooler.
• The people who greet you at the Milk Collection Sites are volunteers for MMBA. They volunteer during their normal work hours. Please call ahead of time to let them know you are coming to drop off milk, and be patient if you have to wait for them while they finish up with their patients. We encourage you to share any concerns or questions with MMBA. Of course, if someone is particularly helpful, consider posting a thank you to them on our social media sites.
